Dr. Edward M. Buford Sr. Th.D Grace supports Sonrise Community Church, the second largest homeless shelter in the city of Houston. This important ministry helps moms, dads and families have a second chance. The facility that houses the 150+ residents retained substantial storm and water damage by Hurricane Ike. For the last number of months, many things have been temporarily patched. Without the necessary repairs, the building is eroding quickly. The facility is in immediate need of a new roof, new AC units, electrical work, ceiling repairs, sheetrock, painting, new floors (tile and carpet), new beds and major sewer repairs.
In spite of these challenges, Ed and Bobbi Buford continue to lead this ministry in an unbelievable way. While we have storm related needs of our own and other facility challenges (repairs, parking, etc.), we feel this project needs to be put ahead of our own needs.
